The main point of an extension pole is to work from the floor where scaffolding or trestles would otherwise be needed. The gain is not only the time saved moving them: when the spatula is drawn from the floor the arm moves through a longer arc, and the pass comes out flatter than short strokes from a ladder.
The length adjusts smoothly from 88 to 210 cm — to the user’s height, the room and the area in hand. A ceiling in a room calls for one setting, the top of a corridor wall for another.
The body is light: at full extension, weight at the end of the lever is felt far more than weight in the hand. That is why extension poles are made as light as rigidity allows.
